Business Writing & Editing:

Business and marketing copywriting has its own voice and its own style — but still needs to reflect the uniqueness of your business! I understand that, and am quick to learn what is important in your space so that I can represent your product or service with the best possible copy.

Imagine copy that is always delivered on time and on budget & and says exactly what you want it to say! If that's what you're looking for, then you're looking for Jeannette Cezan.

Studies have shown that freelancers produce white papers more quickly and economically than inhouse staff — and that white papers are increasingly important in business. I've been providing white papers to a large range of businesses and industries for over ten years: I have the experience you need.

Outsourcing your web copy and your search engine optimization is another area where I can save you time and money: I have the expertise it takes to make your website do exactly what you want it to do, with clean content and a clear call to action, as well as increase its visibility to the search engines.

I provide businesses with a full range of marketing and business copywriting and editing: company reports, brochures, flyers, corporate histories and biographies, sales materials, and SEO services, as well as other public relations and marketing materials.

International and American business clients include Harvard Medical School, eWayDirect, Inc., the Maine Public Policy Institute, Director's Choice, LLC, DAVISCommunications, Inc., Northeast Construction News, J.C. Watts Communications, Alfa Laval Corporation, Karl Nurse Communications, Inc., the Langal Corporation, the National Endowment for Financial Education, T-Rex Transportation Expansion Project, the Advent Media Group, Cambridge Publications, Alpha Quest Corporation, Barnes & Noble, and Pluralis.

Here are some of the services Jeannette provides:

  • Corporate Histories and Biographies
  • Professional Biographies
  • Company Profiles
  • Brochures
  • Press Releases
  • Patent Applications
  • Business, Product, and Annual Reports

Individual Editing & Coaching:

All editing projects are different. Some involve straightforward copyediting; others may entail substantive changes in organization and style. When you first contact Jeannette, she will look at your project and help you decide the services that are best for you.

While editing fiction does not require adhering to the same stringent stylistic principles as does nonfiction, there are other issues that are equally important. An editor looking at a fiction manuscript will be doing the following:

Substantive editing (looking at the flow not only of words, but also of ideas). In particular:

  • Does the plot work? Are there inconsistencies?
  • Are there any POV (point of view) problems?
  • Are the characters well-thought-out? Does the reader have a sense of who they are, of what they think and feel and how they are likely to act?
  • Is the dialogue realistic? Does it really sound like people talking?
  • Is there a balance between narrative and dialogue? Or is one overwhelming the other?
  • Does it fit into the author’s chosen genre?

Copyediting (grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation).

Jeannette can look at as much or as little of your manuscript as you'd like. She can give you as much or as little feedback on specific issues as you'd like. Your success is her success.
